We are fully invested in your love story from the very first email, and consider ourselves so much more than just your wedding and elopement photographers. Whether your dream wedding day is an intimate mountain wedding with friends or an overnight backpacking elopement for two, count us in.

How it works step-by-step

1. Contact us. We’ll send you our full pricing guide that includes more info about our style + packages and we’ll set up a time to chat about your vision.
2. Pick your date. Once your date is set + we’ve received your deposit it’s official; Film and Forest are your adventure wedding photographers! Don’t worry if you don’t have an exact location planned yet; we’re here to help find you the perfect spot, whether it’s an epic hiking elopement around the world or Banff wedding photography in the Canadian Rockies.
3. We’ll help you craft your adventure of a lifetime. From helping you find the perfect ceremony spot to vendor recommendations, accommodation ideas and more, we’ll be there every step of the way to bring this vision to reality.
4. The big day! You finally get to experience your adventure of a lifetime! We’re there to capture all the big landscapes and tiny moments in between. Laughing with you, hiking with you, and shedding tears of joy with you.
5. Cherish your love story for the rest of your life. After the big day, we’ll send you a sneak peek of the photos within a few days to gush over and share with loved ones. Once the full edited gallery is ready you’ll get to look back and live those memories again and again through your timelessly-edited photos. A true adventure of a lifetime.

What does ‘adventure wedding’ and ‘elopement’ even mean?

Adventure weddings and elopements mean celebrating your wedding doing what you love in the outdoors. The terms ‘adventure wedding’ and ‘elopement’ can be used interchangeably depending on how many people attend, but both focus on experiences that do away with larger-than-life guest lists + traditions, and incorporate nature and adventure instead.

Heads up! We’re awkward in front of a camera.

Can you believe almost every couple you see in our photos mentions this when we first chat?! Our approach to ‘posing’ has proven foolproof to bringing out even the most camera-shy personalities! We focus on natural movement and coming together. Every couple is different in how they interact and express their love, and we never want to force-fit you into a pose that just doesn’t feel right. We’ll get you moving around, laughing with each other, and exploring the landscape so much that you’ll forget the camera was even there. The word photoshoot is so 1980s… think double date with epic photos instead 😉

So where are you based? Do you travel internationally for couples?

We live right in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and call Canmore, Alberta home. Having lived #vanlife, we still travel across British Columbia, Tofino (Vancouver Island) in our little campervan for wedding photography, and spend a couple months every year driving to Baja California, Mexico.

We love to travel beyond North America and are always up for capturing destination wedding photography + destination elopements! Contact us for a custom quote.

And are there any travel fees?

No hidden travel fees here! We don’t charge any travel fees around the Canadian Rockies (Banff National Park) or any of the areas listed within our travel schedule. If you’d like to have a destination wedding or elopement somewhere outside of our travel schedule, contact us for a custom quote based on the destination.

But we’ve never been to the place that we want to elope before! Can you recommend things to do and places to stay?

Absolutely! Part of our unlimited planning assistance includes non-photography related questions like things to do and places to stay. We love to travel ourselves, so even if you’re having a destination elopement abroad we will help you research and explore. Think of us as your own personal travel concierge 🙂

Why do I need two photographers to capture my day?

Regardless of the size of your adventure wedding or elopement, having two photographers is crucial to capturing all perspectives of the day. From capturing both partners getting ready in the morning to the first kiss, we make sure to capture all moments. Having two wedding photographers means we can capture different perspectives of the same moment and truly document + tell the story of your day to its fullest.
Plus, as a wife-husband team you can rest assured knowing we’ll both be there with you, and not an unknown second shooter you’ve never met before.

We’re in! How soon should we book?

Get in touch with us as soon as you can! We start booking in January/February for the following year (~12 months in advance) and the summer months book fast (including weekdays!).
With that said, we’ve helped plan + capture elopements in just a few short weeks so don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re planning a short-notice shindig too!
